Best Consumer Journalist
The Helen Dancer Best Consumer Journalist award will award the journalist whose writing is the most effective in meeting the information needs of a non-technical audience, effectively explaining how technology is relevant and can be used by the consumer market.

Readability, Value to reader, Depth, Flair, Originality
Explanation:
Readability
Articles should be written in a manner that makes them easily understood by the target audience.
Value to reader
Articles should be very relevant and of great value to the readership being targeted.
Depth
Articles should be impeccably researched, relying on multiple and well-credentialed sources, as well as demonstrating a developed and authoritative grasp of the topic at hand.
Flair
Articles should show flow, accuracy, balance and creativity in the manner they are written, drawing the reader into the story with well-crafted, entertaining and/or powerful phrasing, analogies, quotes and imagery. Nominations containing typos, spelling mistakes and/or factual errors may be automatically disqualified.
Originality
Articles should be original, delivering new information, or a new spin on previously documented issues or news.
Marks
Each of the criteria should be given a mark out of 10, except Readability which should be marked out of 12 and Originality to be marked out of 8.
