Innovation and Use of Technology
A website should be innovative and creative making the best use of up-to-date technology to consistently stimulate its users.
Interactivity and Value
A Website should be interactive and user friendly with a well-developed understanding of its readership and their information needs. It should seek to engage the reader beyond a superficial level and where appropriate develop a sense of community, through its editorial, website, feedback and other activities.
Editing and Production Quality
A website should be visually appealing or at least appropriate for its readership, with graphics that enhance the text, a logical layout, structure, headlines and captions that draw in the reader.
Commercial Success
Commercial success, in terms of subscription, site visits or website references, is generally a good indication of the effectiveness of a website. Commercial success may involve gains in readership, measured by independent sources, or a leading or improving position in regard to advertising share.
